Afterpay FAQ

Afterpay is a service that allows us to offer our customers the ability to make purchases now and pay for them over time. For some orders, you may use a pay-in-4 option to make four interest-free installments over six weeks while other higher value orders may qualify for a monthly payments option with interest.

If your basket is eligible for 4 interest-free payments with Afterpay, you will be able to select Afterpay as a payment method during checkout. If you have an existing Afterpay account, you will be able to log in with your credentials. If you do not have an existing account, you may apply for one through Afterpay's application process.

For in-store shopping, you'll need to create an account, download the Afterpay app, and follow the prompts and eligibility checks to add the Afterpay Card to your digital wallet. For online shopping, you don't need to register prior to making your first Afterpay purchase. When you are making a purchase, simply choose Afterpay as your payment method at checkout. If it's your first time using Afterpay, you will provide payment details as usual to complete your purchase. Once your first order is approved, your Afterpay account is created. All you need to do is visit www.afterpay.com or download the Afterpay app to set up a password and you will be able to make future purchases using Afterpay by simply entering your login details during checkout.

 

To be eligible to use Afterpay you must:

  • Be an individual who is at least 18 years old
  • For pay-in-4 you must be a resident of the United States and reside within one of the 50 states or the District of Columbia;
  • For PayMonthly, you must reside in the United States, excluding residents of Hawaii, New Mexico, West Virginia, and Nevada.
  • Be capable of entering into a legally binding contract;
  • Have a valid and verifiable email address and mobile telephone number;
  • Provide a valid delivery address in the United States; and
  • Be authorized to use the Payment Method provided (US-issued debit or credit card)
  • Pass identity verification (Monthly Payments)
  • Pass identity and eligibility checks (Afterpay Card)

Yes. If you want to pay the outstanding balance of your purchase early, simply log in at the top of the page, go to the order page, and select "Pay off early".

Cancellations are subject to our cancellation policy. To cancel your order, please contact us. Once we have confirmed the cancellation, Afterpay will update your payments accordingly and you can check the status of your payments anytime in your Afterpay app. Refund processing times vary and can take up to 14 days depending on your financial institution. To check the status of your refund, please confirm first we have updated your payments accordingly and check if you might have already been refunded to your original payment method. If 14 days have passed since the issue of credit and you are still missing your refund, please contact Afterpay for further support.

To change your email address, follow these steps below:

 

Via the App:

  1. Log in to your Afterpay account
  2. Select the "My Afterpay" tab in the bottom right corner
  3. Scroll down and select "Profile details" under the "Account settings" heading
  4. Select the email address field and enter your new email address
  5. Enter the verification codes that are sent to your new email address / phone number.

Via the Afterpay website:

  1. Log in to your account
  2. Click the "account" tab in the top right-hand side of the page
  3. Under the profile tab, click the "edit" button next to your old email address
  4. Enter the verification codes that are sent to your new email address / phone number.
  5. Re-log in using your new email address and current password. All done!

Afterpay may conduct a soft credit check for new customers when they first sign-up to use the platform. This soft credit check will not impact a customer's credit score.

Soft credit checks (also known as soft pulls or soft inquiries) are very common and will not affect credit scores, will not be visible to other lenders or creditors and may or may not be recorded in credit reports, depending on the credit bureau.

Afterpay takes a number of factors into account when making a decision to approve a new customer, a soft credit check is one of those factors.

Afterpay will also do a credit check if you use the Pay Monthly option while checking out. This is part of the assessment to determine your eligibility for this product, as well as the APR that can be offered.
